VELES 1

Veles (45 000 inhabitants) is an industrial city in the valley of Vardar river in the central part of the country. Veles 1 station is situated in the outskirts of the city. An industrial area is located in the north of the station at a distance of about 1 km, however industrial activity in this area is nowadays low. The nearby road without pavement (distance of 3–4 m) and other construction activities may affect especially the particle concentration levels measured.

Measured components are: O₃, NO₂, SO₂, CO and _­PM₁₀.
